HISTORY

Our company originated in Midland, Texas during 1985 as a sole proprietor and moved to Houston, Texas, November 1989. In 1992, our offices moved to the northwest area of Houston (Spring Branch) to accommodate our growth. The principal, L.A. Thompson, has been registered in the State of Texas (R.P.L.S. #3987), since 1981. Mr. Thompson is currently President-Elect of The Texas Society of Professional Surveyor's State organization and is the Past-President of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) Gulf Coast Chapter 9, and a member of the TSPS State Education Committee. Mr. Thompson is active in teaching the Seminar "The Surveyor and the Internet", an 8 hour Continuing Education Unit Seminar for Registered Professional Land Surveyors. Mr. Thompson's experience began in 1966 and currently spans more than 40 years. This kind of experience is becoming rare in the surveying profession, as your first consultation will reveal.

On-going training on current techniques and practices is a standard at Thompson Surveying Company in order to ensure consistent, accurate results in a timely manner. Thompson Surveying Company is also Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) pre-certified for highway department project assistance, thus allowing us to provide professional surveying assistance to engineering and surveying professionals that may not possess the manpower and equipment of our ability.
